Every Thursday is a KAL night here at The Bloomin' Spindle! The table is open for anyone who has signed up for a class but is still working on their piece. We also add a group project every month for people to come and work on a project together without a class if supplies are bought here.

About the event

Knit Along with us! 

Join us every Thursday evening at 6 pm for fun with your fiber friends!  Bring a beverage or snack and come start a new project with us.  Knit-Alongs and Crochet-Alongs are a great way to work on a project without taking a class.  The staff is here to answer questions if you need help, and your fiber friends will often offer support, too!  Some folks join for the fun monthly project suggestions, and some are here to finish class projects.  If you have purchased a class, or if you purchase your materials here at the Bloomin' Spindle, you can continue to work on your project on Thursdays for as long as you need to with no additional purchase.

This month, we are starting knitting Christmas in July! We are casting on these 4 patterns:

About 'Santa Baby': Santa Baby is the beautiful and feminine Christmas sweater for women who dream of a little extra. We can't get over the picot detail on the neckline. You can also add beads along your trees to make it that much more festive!

About 'Christmas Stockings': With 24 colourwork charts to mix and match, this pattern offers 512 different possible options for customizing your own stocking!

About 'Christmas in July Crochet Stocking': 40 Mix & Match Charts to make your custom stocking!

About ' Christmas Stocking Cap': This cute Christmas Stocking Cap knitting pattern features trees, Santa hats, holly berries and candy cane stripes, it’s the perfect holiday knit!

What you'll need for Santa Baby: 

  • US 4 & US 6 circular needles (32") - gauge will be important so you may need to size down a needle depending on the yarn you choose
  • 1340 - 2105 yards of a heavy DK weight yarn
  • Santa Baby pattern by Hanne Rimmen (it's a free download!)
  • Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette

What you'll need for Christmas Stockings: 

  • US 7 circular needles (16")
  • 220 yards of a worsted weight yarn
  • Christmas Stocking pattern by Faye Kennington
  • Gauge: 20 stitches and 21 rows = 4 inches in Stranded Stockinette in the Round

What you'll need for Christmas Stockings Cap: 

  • US 7 circular needles (16")
  • 100 - 150 yards of aran weight yarn
  • Christmas Stocking Cap pattern by Cassandra May
  • Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette
