My Favorite Cardigan

Mondays in February & March: 26th, 4th, 11th

Description: If you can knit and purl, we can help you to make this cardigan.  This is a great first sweater by Amy Cristoffers, one of our favorite designers! So many of those that have knit this in the past have made more than one - a true testament to how wearable this knit is and how easy it is to make. Included in your registration for the class is the pattern, you'll receive a printed copy on the first day of class. When you register you will receive an automated email with information about the class, including a coupon code for 10% off your yarn needed for your project * (needles excluded from discount). Please check your spam folder if you don't see it, and be sure to save it so that you can refer back to it later.

We encourage you to have your yarn picked out prior to the first class. Don't worry we can help you figure out which size and how much yardage you'll need once you register, just give us a call or stop in prior to the first class! Already have yarn in your stash you'd like to use? No problem! Just make sure it meets the criteria we suggest below.

Prerequisites: Participants should be confident in basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. We'll help you with the rest!

Homework: You will need to make a swatch prior to class. CO 32 sts w/larger needle and knit a gauge swatch (use garter on edges to help it lay flat). If you think you need a smaller or larger needle, feel free to purl a dividing line and try another needle. Bring your blocked gauge swatch to the first class.

Materials to bring along:

• 700–1100 yards of worsted/light aran weight yarn
• US8 & US10 circular needles (or size needed to achieve gauge, see homework), 32” or longer
• darning needle
• stitch markers

From casting on to weaving in the ends, when you purchase a class at the Bloomin' Spindle, we will support you until your sweater is complete. After March 11th, if Mondays work for you, feel free to continue to join the table those evenings. Alternatively, you can join us on Thursday KAL nights or Wednesday Stitch Nights.

We welcome young knitters 16 and under in private lessons accompanied by an adult guardian.  Please call the store for available times.
