Sundays Are for Sweaters

Sundays April 21st, 28th & May 5th from 4-6PM 

Sundays are for sweaters! Join us as we cast on Easy Like Sunday Morning or another cozy raglan. 

When you register you will receive an automated email with information about the class, including a coupon code for 10% off your yarn needed for your project * (needles excluded from discount). Please check your spam folder if you don't see it, and be sure to save it so that you can refer back to it later.

Prerequisites: Participants should be confident in basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. We'll help you with the rest!

Homework: 

• Choose your sweater pattern. We are casting on Easy Like Sunday Morning by Sonder Yarn Co! We also love: No Frills Sweater by Petite Knits, Cozy Classic Raglan by Jessie Maed Designs, and Felix Pullover by Amy Christoffers. Need other recommendations? Come on in or send us an email and we'll help you pick out a pattern that you'll love!
• Select your yarn for your new project. We are always happy to help you make selections!
• If you have time, it is so helpful to have your gauge swatch finished & blocked and brought to the first class. Gauge swatches will help us choose the best size for your sweater, and will also ensure you love the fabric that you are creating! We know they're not the most glamorous part of knitting, but they're so important even if you tend to knit on gauge.

Materials to bring along (if knitting the Easy Like Sunday Morning sweater):

• 300-700g of DK weight + 100-250g of mohair yarn (held double)
• US 7 (16" circumference), US 8 (12" & 40" circumferences), and US 10 (16", 24", and 40" circumferences) circular needles (or size needed to achieve a gauge of 16sts & 20rnds = 4" after blocking)
• pattern for whichever sweater you have chosen (if not Easy Like Sunday Morning)
• darning needle
• stitch markers

From casting on to weaving in the ends, when you purchase a class at the Bloomin' Spindle, we will support you until your sweater is complete. After April 28th, if Sundays work for you, feel free to continue to join the table those afternoons. Alternatively, you can join us on Thursday KAL nights or Wednesday Stitch Nights.

We welcome young knitters 16 and under in private lessons accompanied by an adult guardian.  Please call the store for available times.
