Event Description

Fill up your knitting skill set this summer! Sign up for the classes you need to create that dream piece. Each class will teach a skill that opens up a new arena of knitting patterns to enjoy. How the Class Series Works: - Sign up for the date(s) that correspond with the skill you seek to learn. - Arrive with a workable yarn - at least 25 grams worth, with a corresponding needle size, and please bring a material that is NOT a cotton or linen material as these blends tend to not offer enough flexibility for some of the techniques we will work on. We can also help you purchase your needed materials prior to class. - The instructional period will cast on a swatch and practice the skill worked flat back and forth - The final half hour will allow for pattern recommendations and the option to cast on your first project using this skill. - Participants who choose to embark on their first project can shop their materials with a 5% discount during the class time, and get a pass for three free help sessions from the Thursday Night 6pm-8pm Knit Project Workshops. Note: The 5% discount is ONLY available during the lesson, it is not a coupon available for later use. Current Dates: Friday May 30: Raglan Increase and Short Rows This class gives the basics needed for a classic top down shoulder structure often used in sweaters and cardigans. Short Rows and M1L / M1R increases are also used in smaller projects such as slippers, mittens, or some shawls. Friday June 6: Cables Enter into the world of cable stitches! Class will cover reading a chart, cable abbreviations and chart depictions, and how to work with a cable needle. This class opens a world of options as cables can be found on shawls, cowls, sweaters, hats, mittens and more! Project suggestions will include both "straight knit" projects and also patterns that require increase and decrease methods. Friday June 13: Baubles and Bubbles (Knit 4 Down) Stuck on these trendy textures? They might be simpler than you expect!
